DinnerCrave

Crave

Crave is a trendy, urban bistro located in the Main Street Neighborhood. They serve grown up comfort food created by the former executive Chef of the Four Season’s Hotel. It’s a popular little spot, which can make it really busy during dinner time. The line ups are long and can take up to an hour to be seated. But we’ve always had a good experience here, so we thought it was time to return to see if Crave was still on top of their game.

DinnerBenkei Noodle Shop

Benkei Noodle Shop
(Clockwise left to right: 1. Benkei Noodle Shop. 2. A young patron enjoying the house’s speciality. 3. An ancient halberd sits in the corner patiently waiting for those who don’t pay their bills.)

Benkei Noodle Shop is a relative newcomer to the Ramen noodle scene. Since Kintaro is consistently busy, Case and I needed a solid back-up plan if we ever had a noodle craving and didn’t want to leave the West End with an empty stomach. Friends of ours recommended Benkei which is right on Robson, just around the corner from Kintaro.

DinnerCopa Cafe

[rating:3] :

Copa Cafe

Copa Cafe is a Hong Kong style Cafe that serves Chinese dishes with a western twist. Like other Hong Kong style cafes, Copa Cafe offers mini dishes at cheap prices. A close friend recommended Copa Cafe, so Tre and I ventured out to see how it would measure up to another HK style cafe within the neighborhood — Cafe Gloucester.

Happy Birthday Noshwell

It’s hard to believe that an entire year has passed since our first post. It only seemed like yesterday when Case and I were just toying around with the idea of a food blog as a way to share some of our favourite restaurants with friends and family.

We’d like to thank all the readers who have faithfully followed us and want you to know that we’ve got some exciting new things coming up at Noshwell over the next few months, so stay tuned. We thought it would only be appropriate to leave you with (in no particular order) our top 5 most memorable meals over the last year*:

1. Les Faux Bourgeois
2. Kintaro Ramen
3. Bon’s off Broadway
4. East is East
5. Guu

*There was absolutely no form of scientific method used to derive this top 5 list.

BreakfastGlowbal Grill and Satay Bar

[rating:3]

Glowbal

Located in trendy Yaletown in the historic warehouse district, Glowbal Grill and Satay Bar has been serving west coast style food since 2002.  The sleek decor and electric vibe makes Glowbal a popular venue for both locals and out of towners. They serve power lunches daily, lazy brunches during the weekend and serve as a jumping point for a night out on the town, which makes Glowbal a well rounded restaurant.
