Legendary Noodles

I like a bowl of noodle soup now and then, and handmade noodles make it a little more special. Stretched, twirled and expertly sliced into thin strands, the noodles can only be made by a talented noodle maker with kung-fu like skills. Legendary Noodles on Denman, serves traditional hand made noodles with a contemporary twist on the soups and sauces.

Leisure Tea & Coffee

Situated on Alexandra Road just East of No.3 Road in Richmond, this bubble tea house knows what they’re doing when it comes to Taiwanese chicken and ice slush plates. Ice slush plate is a Taiwanese dessert that consists of a big plate of shaved ice drowned in condensed milk and assorted toppings of your choice including various fruits and red and green beans. The dessert is refreshing and sweet. But, I would recommend sharing between two people. Quite simply, it rocks.

BreakfastSpicy Court Chinese Restaurant

[rating:4] :

Spicy Court Chinese Restaurant

Spicy Court serves Sichuan and Shanghai style Chinese cuisine. They have yet to disappoint us for their dim sum. Its located just on the west side of Vancouver across from Oakridge Centre along the Cambie corridor. The restaurant itself is quite spacious and the environment is calmer than normal for dim sum restaurants. Since Tre and I aren’t early risers, and can barely crawl out of bed around this time of the morning, it’s nice to be able to carry on a conversation first thing in the morning without yelling into each other’s face. There aren’t usually any line ups; no people shoving to get ahead in line; yet the restaurant is full. It’s like organized chaos.

Mango Kit Kat

We’ve discovered another member of the growing Kit Kat family — Mango Kit Kat. Another loser. The unappealing, pale yellow color is curiously similar to its Banana Kit Kat cousin. The sugary, perfume-heavy and squishy gum-like texture makes this another failure. We’ve seen the Mango Kit Kats on display and the shelves are always full — now I see why. I’m beginning to suspect the original Green Tea Kit Kat may have been the only exotic flavour experiment that hadn’t gone horribly wrong.

Nando's Chicken

If you have the craving for barbeque chicken and are (a) too lazy to barbeque or (b) inundated with enough frost to prevent you from being outside for more than 60 seconds at a time without losing an appendage, might I recommend Nando’s. It’s fast food that doesn’t suck. Nando’s serves Portuguese-style flame-grilled chicken marinated in lemons and herbs — and for those that want a kick in the pants: the infamous Peri Peri sauce, which comes in varying levels of hotness.
