Pho Saigon (Takeout)

Pho Saigon is a Vietnamese restaurant located on Kingsway in Burnaby. The name is about as generic as you could have for a Vietnamese restaurant, but this family run eatery is a really nice alternative to fast food when you want something to go.

Huaxi Noodle Specialist

Huaxi is a noodle shop located in the food court at Crystal Mall specializing in Szechuan style beef noodle soups. They call themselves the Noodle Specialist and I have to agree with that claim. Normally, we avoid Crystal Mall like the plague, but as long as Huaxi Noodle Specialist is still there, we will keep coming back.

Vietnamese

Cambie Vietnamese Restaurant on Main Street was, as its name suggests, once located on the corner of Cambie and King Edward — which is now home to one of the new Canada Line stations. The service has remained similar — the owner is still an overly eager host excitedly greeting customers with his distinctive catchphrase, “Hello my friend,” and finishing off every sentence he speaks with “my friend.” The host’s enthusiasm aside, we wanted to see how well the food’s quality had made with the move to its new home on Main Street.
