If a bunch of lifelong friends recently graduated from college came into some money and decided to start up a business so all their other college buddies could come by and hang out — it would probably look a lot like The Rumpus Room on Main Street. Equal parts 70′s kitsch, hipster watering hole, and classic comfort food factory.

Coma is an acronym for Korean-Mexican-American — the fusion of cuisine that’s offered at this mobile food stand. They make no bones about being inspired by the world famous Kogi BBQ truck in Los Angeles, but given that the latter is a few thousand kilometers away, we can easily overlook any similarities (if there are any).

Pizzeria Farina sits on Main Street just off the the Georgia Street Viaduct, sharing the same neighbourhood as Ba Le and Campgnolo. Farina joins the growing league of Neapolitan style pizza restaurants in Vancouver. Luckily, pizzas made from scratch, with quality ingredients, and a little heart never really go out of style.

Dougie Dog, started by a proprietor with a clear passion for hot dogs, is located in the entertainment district on Granville Street. Sure, there are various toppings to be had but unlike most hot dog vendors, Dougie Dog starts off with wieners that are all natural and free of hormone, chemicals and preservatives. Then, they lay on the toppings.
