There’s a hangover party in East Vancouver every weekend. And it’s being held by Nuba at the Waldorf. Inside the Tiki inspired dining room, the kitchen of modern Lebanese restaurant Nuba is serving up a brunch Mexicana at what they call Desayuno! Confused yet? We were.

Finding a Vietnamese beef noodle shop in the suburbs can be difficult, and it would seem running one can be equally difficult. Pho Tan on Kingsway in Burnaby has taken over what was once Pho Saigon.

Tasty and Sons is Portland’s answer to the monotony of staid breakfast platters found at many restaurants. Make no mistake, there are eggs and sausages and biscuits to be had. It’s just that this North Williams Avenue eatery takes the classic notion of breakfast and puts an ever so slightly eccentric twist on it.

A good coffee spot can be tricky to find, but in a town like Portland, that search becomes easier. The appropriately named Barista on Northeast Alberta street is more than just a regular coffee shop. The guys and gals at Barista are highly skilled and very passionate about coffee. I guess that’s what you’d expect from a coffee shop opened by a multiple awarding winning barista.
